Cancer Council Australia suggested that about 587,000 Australian workers were exposed to silica dust in the workplace in 2011. Cleaning is part of the risk mitigation as well as implanting engineering controls at the source ?♀️?♂️ Crystalline Silica is on the top two priority chemicals in the SafeWork NSW Work Health and Safety Roadmap 2017 – 2022 (see the first comment).
